I can't believe I got my tag for March done already! I was so excited to get going on it as I thought I had pretty much everything he used. Key word being 'THOUGHT'. When I started pulling stuff out I realized that I didn't have the Mini Bunny die; I had the full size version. Hmmmm... what to do. I DID have the mini version of the styled labels however, to go with the Styled Labels die. Unfortunately they don't nest like the other M&S dies do inside the Bigz dies so I had to do a two step cutting process for the frame.
The full size bunny totally covered the openning so the bunny was out. The butterfly worked so I cut it out from Grungepaper. Next, my original thought was to ink and glitter or crackle it. But I got to wondering if any of the butterflies or moths from his 12x12 Crowded Attic paper would fit the die. I pulled the negative cut out from the trash and used it to measure up the butterflies. Lo and behold one DID fit! So with some very careful placement I cut out the butterfly and colored it with Distress Markers and a waterbrush, then I gave it a quick spritz of Biscotti Perfect Pearls spray for some shimmer and glued it to the Grungepaper butterfly.
I also don't have any of the Distress paints yet so I used my Golden Fluid Acrylics. Not the same effect as they are more transparent but it worked. I also don't have the grass die that Tim Holtz used so I used my washer die backed with glitter paper that I tinted pink with Alcohol Inks.
