Here is my completed tag for January's 12 Tags challenge from Tim Holtz. Surprisingly I had everything that he used this month! I did a couple things a bit different just to put more of 'Me' into the tag. I distressed and inked the edges of the tag. I used a Silver Sharpie paint marker (instead of Krylon Gold) and I attached it to the book page as a flip-out - more on that later.
For my individual words I chose words to reflect how I want 2015 to be - how I want to strive to be and focus on what is important to me. Family, Friends, my art and my inner self.
I created the 2 book pages in the same manner as the tag, stamping the month along one side. One I glued into the book, the other I trimmed to fit and backed the tag and also to provide the hinge that I needed for the tag. I glued the other side of the hinge to the outer edge of the page. My idea is to add a quote to each month that reflects the season, a holiday or what's happening/how I'm feeling personally any given month. Sometimes it will be hidden - like this month - sometimes it will be front & forward.
My hope is to create an insightful and interactive art book that is deeply personal and reflects me and my journey through my crazy life. I hope you will join me!
