I got a text last night from a good friend's daughter that her mom was having emergency surgery and in the hospital. Yikes! That was a shock! So this morning before before I went off on my appointments I made her a quick card. Then this afternoon after my appointments I went to visit her. In typical Sarah style she was raring to go and doing great!
I used an older (red rubber which she no longer makes her stamps from. I'm a long time fan!) Character Constructions stamp, coloring the image with watercolor pencils and a water brush. For the window, window box and pediment I used dies from Tim Holtz, cutting the pieces from textured Grunge Board. I simply painted, sanded and inked them. Then I backed the central image with Basic Grey papers and finished with tiny paper flowers from my stash.
Today is the last day of my long weekend (which for me was Sunday-Tuesday) and the Beauty Berry bushes are in their full spring splendor right now so I had to take some pics to share with you. These shrubs are aptly named as they give a full three seasons of gorgeousness! In the spring, as you can see, the branches are heavy with the most beautiful, delicate, pale pink flowers. Summer brings loads of lovely, periwinkle blue/purple berries. Once the weather cools off and nights get shorter the foliage just comes alive with flaming shades of orange and red.
For those of you that don't know (seriously, I'm probably driving my friends crazy at this point) this can ALL be yours as my house is for sale. If you are interested or know someone who might be you can view/share the listing here. No kidding it's an all new house, from the cosmetic (fresh paint, updated faucets, power washed deck) to the not so glamorous - but very important repairs - new roof and hot water-heater, exterior paint. This is as turn key as it gets!
