More Classes

I have added a couple more classes for October.  The focus of classes for the fall is all about creating inexpensive gifts with a huge wow factor.

Altered Tile Bracelet

Dinners At The Farm 2011 ~ Update

 

What can I say?!  Dinner, the experience, the location, EVERYTHING was spectacular!  I wasn't sure how Jon would do with eating outdoors since bugs love to feast on him but he really enjoyed himself as well - enough to say that we should do this again next year.  Woohoo! Can't wait!   We also plan on making the trip to Chester to go to Jonathan Rapp's restaurant, River Tavern because everything was so wonderful.  My plan was to take photos of every course but I forgot and only got two photos of the food; the Lobster BLT and the Grilled Tuna w/ Salad Nicoise.  I created an album with all the photos of the evening.  The link is on the left sidebar.  Just can't figure out how to add descriptions to each photo. Any advise?

Time To Party!

Today is my birthday.  This year is more special to me because there was a time this Spring that I didn't think I'd make it to 51.  To celebrate we are attending a benefit called Dinners At The Farm.  I love the whole concept of this event and have tried for the past three years to attend but it was always sold out really early.  So this year I made reservations is April to make sure I got in.  They just posted pics from last weekends dinner at Barberry Hill Farm (where we are going this evening).  It's so beautiful and everything looks SO yummy!

Dinners At The Farm has been featured in national food & lifestyle magazines, the Food Network and on the Cooking Channel's Food(ography).  If you have the opportunity to attend this type of event in your area - do it!  You won't be disappointed!  After all, no farmers - no food.

The Big 5-0!

Yep.  I turned 50 yesterday.  My DH gave me a gorgeous bouquet & yummy chocolates from my favorite flower shop, Thames River Greenery in New London, CT.  To celebrate we went out to dinner with friends to the new Bobby Flay restaurant, Bar Americain at Mohegan Sun Casino.  What a FABULOUS experience!  The restaurant has a retro yet modern feel to it.  I half expected the Rat Pack to walk in any minute.  The entire staff was unfailingly polite and helpful.  The food was AMAZING!  He has such a way of blending ingredients and flavors that you think would never go together but compliment each other perfectly.  If you ever come to the area you really should experience this restaurant.  It is a bit pricey but worth every penny!  We will definitely be returning - maybe for DH's birthday in September?

Farmers Market

I will be a Guest Artist at this weekends farmers market in Old Lyme, CT.  I absolutely LOVE this market!  A perfect location - Ashlawn Coffee Farm, wonderful, locally grown fruits & veggies, local bakeries, fishmonger, pasture grown, natural beef & pork all along side local artists and artisans.  If you are in the area you MUST experience this market.  You won't regret it!

Some Art To Share

Not to much going on.  Just work, work, work.  Also taking care of a sick kitty.  She is on antibiotics and getting better each day, and her mama is quite sleep deprived at this point.  Oh, and I closed out my 2009 books for the biz and paid the sales tax man today.  See what I mean?  Boring!  I did cook up an awesome(according to hubby and friends) pot of French Onion Soup.  It's been SOOOO cold here it was a perfect night for a hearty soup.  I only had a little time for playing in the studio.  Working on stuff for classes in 2010.  I'll keep you posted!  T
