Normally I don't blog about food I have made, BUT.... I found this recipe for fresh corn grits with shrimp in Food & Wine magazine and decided to give it a try. Sounded good even though a few ingredients I wasn't to sure about. Pecan Butter, Beer?? I followed the recipe exactly (though I had to make my own unsweetened Pecan butter which I think turned out to be key in the recipes success). It was a lot of work (it always is when you have to cut the corn off the cob then grate the cobs for pulp and juice) but OMG it came out AWESOME! Once all the prep work is done it makes up pretty fast. About 90 min total from start to finish. I'll definitely be making this again for friends!
