That's the theme of the next Southeastern CT (SECT for short) ATC Group Swap. The swap is open to all you just need to be a member of my Yahoo Group (click link to join) and use at least one Lost Art Creations image and one LAC pretty bit (any other item I sell such as, paper ephemera, fibers, laces, charms, etc). This is a 9/9 ATC swap.

The calendar is up for sale on Etsy. Woohoo! This has been quite a project in the making - since January!
I tried to find a printing company to give me a deal on printing and binding but had no luck. I wanted as much of the price of the calendar to go to Go Red For Women, yet keep the price reasonable, so I ended up printing and binding all the calendars myself. Oey! I hope I can keep up with the sales!

That is what my other half calls it when I pull out the etching tank to etch metal. It's quite a process so I like to do it in batches, not just a piece or two. He always acts nervous when I snap on those heavy gloves, slide on the goggles and slip that apron over my head and start pouring Ferric Chloride into the tank. Can't you just picture it?
Anyway, I made 8 books all with the etched metal as a front cover. I love how they came out! Some of the natural patinas are just to die for! The Poppy book is my fav for the wonderful range of colors that developed in the etching bath. From blue violet to flaming red.
The small books are 3" x 5" and the larger books are 4" x 6". Every book is a 100 page journal with rag paper. Each signature (section) has a different (but co-ordinated) patterned paper cover. All of the books are stitched with a Coptic stitch. Eventually these will be listed on my Etsy Shop if they don't sell by the end of the summer. If you are interested in purchasing one before that just email me. They are all one of a kind so once sold that's it. The smaller books are $70 each and the larger books are $120 each.
I just finished loading a whole bunch of new goodies to my Etsy Shop. Materials for creating collage art, altered books, assemblages, ATCs, jewelry - you name it! I have started to bring over some of my best selling collage sheets from my Picturetrail, some in new forms - namely kits with multiple sheets packaged with vintage ephemera and vintage trims and laces. These kits and sheet releases are available in a limited release. Also new - MANY items to the Metal Shop section! Steampunk Gears, fancy filigrees, highly detailed frames and more.

Just finished adding more collage sheets, tinsel ribbons(great for your holiday projects!) and Flower Kits.
The flowers kits are made up of vintage fabric petals that have been shaped & embossed and some look like they are hand painted/dyed. They don't look like much flat, but stacked and secured in the center and they transform into GORGEOUS, lush flowers!

Just sharing some ATCs I've been I've been working on for the latest LAC swap. The theme is Gothic Novel/Gothic Halloween. I'm having such fun with this theme! I've always been a Dark Shadows fan (I used to race home from school to catch the show on TV when I was a kid) so I've been channeling some of that energy into each ATC. I only need to make 9 for the swap but I will end up with 15 or more by the time I am done.
I've also managed to catch the Banner Bug! I worked on a class sample using some Ranger products and I realized I love making banners about as much as I love making ATCS - and that's A LOT!! Banners can translate to any holiday, any theme. Hang them on the wall. Treat them as a valance over a window, decorate your Christmas tree with a string of small banners. The possibilities are endless! Class info TBD. I'll let you know as soon as I do!
It's been so long since I have posted anything. I've been crazy busy with the FT job plus working on prepping for one class, making up class samples for two more, plus developing another advanced altered book/journal class series, PLUS making art for swaps, shopping for goodies to add to my Etsy shop. I have found so much I have committed myself to add 4-6 products per evening until they are all loaded. Some items are Onesies (only 1 available) so if you really want it you better buy it before it's gone. I hope to have more Gothic art to share this weekend. Sorry it's been so long!
