Summer is finally upon us here on the Connecticut shoreline. Even with all the traffic jams - Rte 95 tends to be a parking lot from Friday evening til early Monday morning - and the influx of seasonal residents and tourists I can't imagine NOT living on the shoreline. All that activity brings a certain 'buzz' that seems to float through the air and infect everyone with a sense of purpose (to show off our little village and all it has to offer to all the out of towners) and pride. Though, I tend to avoid the beach in the summer. Too crowded, hot and who has time to just lay there and cook? My favorite time for the beach is in the winter. Quiet and peaceful. The rhythmic sound of the waves crashing on the shore gives me a feeling of peace and calm and is so centering for me.
So this month I decided to honor, in my small way, the beauty of the ocean with my page for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2016 challenge.
I also stamped and colored a shell image on the back page and to make it stand out a bit more I covered the whole image with Clear Wink of Stella. This brush 'marker' is one of my all time favorite tools for adding a bit of shimmer to an otherwise so-so image! I also have them in other colors but I reach for the Clear much more than the other colors.
