I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get to my page done for Tim Holtz's monthly challenge, but I decided to take a creative break from house stuff and play in the studio this weekend. After making a couple Christmas gifts I got busy on my page for this month. The rub-on resist technique is one of my favorite backgrounds and it was fun to revisit it. I didn't have his flatware charms but I did manage to find some gold Dresden trim that was all forks and knives. I just knocked down the shiny gold with a little black paint.
A funny confession; After I had assembled everything I noticed a little tiny rub-on underneath 'Gather' that said 'Poison' with a tiny skull & crossbones. Well! I didn't think that was very fitting for a Thanksgiving page! Originally I had die cut the word 'Family' to use under the word gather but it was too big. I REALLY needed to cover up the inappropriate rub-on so I went to my stash and found some old Ideology folding tab with stickers and clear epoxy sticker. PERFECT! I ended up being able to go with my original vision, just using a different supply AND it covered up that rub-on!
