Wendy Vecchi is doing a monthly art challenge on one of her blogs dedicated to the monthly challenges. I love her products so I am going to try to participate every month. This month is all about using embossing pastes in traditional and non-traditional ways. I took a class with her last summer and made a technique tag book so I decided to expand that book. SOOO much fun! If you get the opportunity to take a class with her - do it! She is a very generous instuctor with both her knowledge and with her kits!
So here is my entry for the challenge:
I started with a shortened #8 tag and diecut an opening. Next I spread her Gold embossing paste all over the surface with my finger trying to avoid the edges. Once it was dry I edged it with Potting Soil Archival Ink, then stamped and stenciled it with silver embossing paste and archival ink. I stamped & colored a scrap piece of manilla card stock with more of Wendy's inks and stamps. Then I attached it to the back of the tag with black foam tape.
For the focal I used two Tim Holtz Mini dies and one of his decorative strip dies. The foliage was left over from another project, I just cut and pieced it to fit this project.
For the flower I embossed it with a couple layers of embossing powder. I just wiped it off the edges so it didn't look so perfect. I finished the flower with a Bucket Blossom resin flower that I had left over from Wendy's generous class kit.
So that's it for now!
Have a creative day!
