This is my 5th card from Online Card Class; Stamp Camp 2013. In week 3 we were challenged to really try something outside our comfort zone, so I accepted the challenge and this is what I came up with:
This card is very graphic, somewhat modern and there isn't a speck of ink anywhere. Definitely outside my comfort zone!
I did manage to use the colors of the week; two shades of brown, two shades of purple and a light aqua color that they referred to as Pool.
I started by embossing a Kraft Card. This was the only embossing folder that was big enough for the card and I find it a bit busy. I tried to find a dotted swiss type folder (that's what I saw in my 'vision')but had no luck. That's OK though since the overall challenge I gave myself for the entire class was to not buy anything for this class, but used what I already had.
I then die cut the tree, bicycle, birds and fence; the tree and fence in Kraft cardstock that matches the card, the bicycle in dark brown cardstock and birds in dark purple (all dies except the greeting are Memory Box. The greeting is Elizabeth Crafts). Next I die cut the greeting in a pearlized pool paper and glued it to a strip of lighter purple cardstock. Next, I glued everything in place using the handy, dandy glue pen and my trusty tweezers. To finish off the card I added two Goosebump Crystal stickers to the bicycle. You know me - I just can't resist the shiny & sparkly! For me this card is a so-so effort. It was certainly a learning experience!
